The Long-Lasting Tropical Accent Plant.

The **Pink Bromeliad Aechmea** is a stunning tropical epiphyte prized for its exotic, long-lasting color. Unlike a traditional flower, the pink part is actually a colorful **bract** (modified leaf) that can retain its vibrant color for several months, standing tall above a rosette of glossy green leaves. It is generally easy to care for and is a great option for a bright space.

Care & Info

  • Light: Prefers **bright, indirect light**. A location near a bright window (east or west-facing) is ideal. Direct, intense sunlight can burn the leaves and fade the color.
  • Water: Bromeliads are unique: you primarily water the central **"cup" or "tank"** formed by the leaf rosette. Keep this cup about 1/4 to 1/2 full of clean water at all times. Periodically flush the cup with fresh water to prevent stagnation. Water the soil itself only when the top inch is completely dry.
  • Humidity/Temp: Appreciates **high humidity** but is tolerant of average home humidity. Misting occasionally is beneficial. Keep temperatures consistently warm (65°F - 80°F) and away from cold drafts.
  • Life Cycle: Each plant blooms only once. After the color fades (which can take 3-6 months), the parent plant will begin to produce **"pups"** (offsets) at the base before slowly dying back. These pups can be separated and repotted to start new plants!

Sizing and Variants

Please select your desired pot size from the options above. All sizes come with an established central bloom (bract).

Important Notes

  • Pet note: **Non-Toxic to cats and dogs.** Bromeliads are listed as safe by the ASPCA.
  • Longevity: The pink color is very long-lasting (several months), but once it fades, that particular plant will not bloom again. Focus on nurturing the "pups" for future color!
  • What you get: One healthy Bromeliad plant with an active pink bract in the pot size selected.
