Aglaonema
The color-rich survivor.
Aglaonema is the plant that refuses to quit — and looks extraordinary doing it. Broad, glossy leaves in an almost unbelievable range of colors — deep emerald green, silver-streaked, blush pink, vivid red, and everything in between — bring a lush, tropical richness to any space, even the most challenging low-light corners. One of the most forgiving and adaptable indoor plants available, and one of the most rewarding.
Light: Thrives in medium to low indirect light — one of the few genuinely colorful plants that performs beautifully away from windows. Brighter indirect light intensifies the pink and red varieties; darker green varieties are the most shade-tolerant.
Water: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly. Tolerates occasional missed waterings gracefully — far more forgiving of underwatering than overwatering.
Humidity/Temp: Content in standard home humidity; thrives in consistent warmth between 65–80°F. Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F which cause rapid leaf damage.
Pet note: Toxic to pets if ingested; causes mouth irritation, drooling, and digestive upset in cats and dogs.
Natural variation: Each plant is unique; leaf size, color intensity, and pattern distribution will vary beautifully by variety.
