Maranta - Prayer Plant

Few plants are as quietly mesmerizing as the Maranta. Watch closely and you'll notice its beautifully patterned leaves slowly fold upward at dusk like hands in prayer, then unfurl again with the morning light — a gentle, rhythmic movement that brings an almost meditative energy to any space it inhabits.

Light: Thrives in medium to bright indirect light; shield from direct sun which quickly bleaches and scorches the intricate leaf patterns. Tolerates lower light better than most patterned foliage plants.

Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Sensitive to tap water — distilled, rain, or filtered water is strongly recommended to prevent brown leaf tips.

Humidity/Temp: Demands moderate to high humidity and consistent warmth; thrives between 65–80°F. A pebble tray, humidifier, or a bright bathroom spot makes a noticeable difference.

Pet note: Completely pet-safe — one of the few truly stunning foliage plants that poses no risk to cats or dogs.

Natural variation: Each plant is unique; leaf pattern symmetry, color intensity, and the richness of the pink midrib and vein detailing will vary naturally by variety.
