Snake Plant - Sansevieria
The indestructible icon.
If there's one plant that belongs in every home, it's the Snake Plant. Striking, sculptural, and virtually unkillable, its tall, upright leaves — boldly patterned in deep greens, silvers, and creamy yellows — bring a clean, modern architectural presence to any space. It purifies the air, tolerates neglect with grace, and looks exceptional doing it.
Light: Remarkably adaptable — thrives in bright indirect light but tolerates low light conditions better than almost any other plant. Will survive in dim corners where most plants simply give up.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings — and then wait a few more days. One of the most drought-tolerant houseplants available; overwatering is the only real way to harm it. In winter, water sparingly once a month or less.
Humidity/Temp: Content in dry or standard home humidity; thrives in a wide range of indoor temperatures between 60–85°F. Avoid frost and prolonged exposure to temperatures below 50°F.
Pet note: Toxic to pets if ingested; causes nausea and digestive discomfort. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.
Natural variation: Each plant is unique; leaf height, banding pattern, edge coloration, and the number of upright leaves will vary naturally by variety.
